I am taking the car off the market now, as tonight on the way to work i had a accident and the front of the cortina isnt looking pretty anymore. I am going to see if it is worth fixing it or i may sell it as it is for a knocked down price, if anyone is interested i will post some pics of the damage. Anyway just thought i would let you guys know, i am feeling pretty s**t at the moment can't belive this has happend. Simon Can you post some pictures of the damage please Hi there I have refitted a few bits back to the car now so its roadworthy. Its got a new headlight and i just got a new grill this morning from a member on here. I will take some pics of the damage before the grille is put back on. fogg5446 0 Posted November 12, 2007 Just a quick one to say that this car is still for sale. Basically i have fitted a new head light and grille, but the damage to the panel under the headlight is still there along with the dents on the bonnet. I have straightned out the bumper a bit and put that back on also. There a new front panel (one undet the headlights) included with the car, its a original ford part, got slight bit of surface rust but should be fine. The car is running but it cuts out when slowing down or accelerating hard from a stand still. Car still got a alot of mot and tax till the end of the year. If i can get £600 for the car as it is i am happy (ono) it is drivable but like i said it cuts out sometimes so maybe on a truck or trailer would be the best thing. The exhaust is still blowing, i had a quick look at the back box and there is a hole in it at the bottom so would probably need a new back box. The front brakes i havent touched, the calipers could probably do with a rebuild, feels to me like the nearside front brake could be the problem. gazzg36 0 Posted November 25, 2007 For sale is my cortina mk5 2.3 ghia. The car is 1982, its a manual 2.3 with a capri 2.8 5 speed type 9 box fitted. She has an mot until june 2008 and tax up to the end if the year. She has had some welding done for the mot this year which was on the rear of the sills and in the boot area. It also had some welding done on the inner sills aswell. The colour is crystal green (as you probably know) The exterior is in relatively good condition but could do with some tidying, The front valence could do with replacing to tidy things up abit (take a look at the phots see what you think). The interior is in good condition apart from the door pocket on the drivers side which has come unstuck from the door card. It has done 94k miles and the engine runs sweet, it hasn't been converted to unleaded but i use castrol additive with octane boost. The engine also has a k&n filter on it (sounds lovely). The front brakes could do with a service and the exhaust is blowing from the back a little but has just had brand new down pipes fitted. It has got a set of escort rs2000 wheels, it doesn't have the rs2000 spare but comes with a original ghia alloy with brand new tyre on it. The car also has a tow bar which is only a few months old, i havent towed anything heavey with it and have only used it a few times to tow my go-karts to the local track.
