S1ReDR 1 Posted January 8, 2008 I,m an ex Redruth boy!, but so long ago I don,t have an accent ! My Tinas been down there a few times on holiday at Sennen , still come down in a work capacity and see old friends when I,m down , used to go and watch Plymouth Argyle in the 70s. brightorangeGT 1 Posted January 11, 2008 Hi there - I'm down here in Plymouth and I have a rough old MK 3 GT. I've had it five years now and recently fitted an unleaded cylinderhead, an old mobelec electronic ignition unit I won on ebay, and a new Weber carb. What a difference electronic ignition makes! Come to think of it Ive just about replaced everything that can be replaced in the time Ive had the car: engine,axle,prop,carb,rear srings, shocks,headlights,discs,radiator...it never ends...Infact its off the road at the moment as I need to replace the cambelt. Im not complaining because unlike a modern car I can do everything myself and I think thats half the fun. The only thing I am stuck on is the wipers only work on slow speed and dont self park anymore. Ive changed the motor and switches ... still the same. Not to worry Ive got a 5 speed gearbox ready to go in ...and maybe oneday...finances permitting an LPG conversion. My mk3...I wouldnt change it for anything... tc1 1 Posted January 16, 2008 Hi my name is trev and i have just joined the website. i live in exeter and i have just bought a '68 mk2 1600 super. the panels are arrow straight it just needs a new paint job. i have have several cortinas in the past (mk1,2,3,4) just looking forward to getting it sorted out. i am just in the middle of putting the engine back into my '65 mustang so once thats done i can get the cortina in the garage and start it. bought the car tuesday, drove it home 180 miles, in the pouring rain and it didn't miss a beat. its only got 34,000 miles on the clock with mot's to verify this. anyway better not rattle on as this is the first post i have put on. cheers for now trev Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
