Hi, I was thinking of buying a kit from Old Ford to convert my Mk 2 Cortina to steering rack . Just wondered if anyone has bought such a kit or , even better, got any pictures of it.

I think these are very dear, its a great idea to have rack and pinion steering but a

price tag of £600 plus parts is a bit extreme. :(

The two ways of doing it, are to buy the kit or do it yourself If you cant do it yourself then it will cost as much either way, the do it youself way all you need is a mk3 capri for its front suspension & brakes, steering but it DONT bolt in !! & you will need to weld & understand camber/caster ect. to fit it.

As far as i know their xmember is mod'ed to bolt in, the rollbar is mod'ed to fit & give adjustable caster, they use adjustable tca's & top mounts for camber setting, the rack ends up to short so you get extensions for this ! You can fit the capri suspension for the cost of it from the capri ! & you skill !! (The most you MAY need are adjustable tca's)
