white paint search

hi..

have recently got a white 1974 mk3 2000E

 

and am in need of the white paint.. any sugestions on what and where to get it..

 

are you still able to get celulose paint of is there another alternative paint used these days.. i am hoping to only have to paint in some perair pannels and dont want to get involved in a complete spray jobbie..

Cellulose is still available as I just bought some to respray my Vespa - CARS in Canvey Island is my local supplier & I think they are franchised.

Cellulose is still available as I just bought some to respray my Vespa - CARS in Canvey Island is my local supplier & I think they are franchised.

paint code is B i think but not sure weather it be Ermine or Diamond white for a 74 model.. antone got any idear..??

My vote would be diamond white as Ermine is more off-white & I had a white L reg GXL in 1978 and that was Diamond as I recall.

Loads on ebay cellulose and 2K, just search Ford white cellulose, it will through up diomand white, but you can go from their

my 71 L is diamond white, just to back up the diamond front

I hope you know the variations on this colour is one of the worst about25 my advise just go for No 1 and fade it out

thanks for that.. any perticular brand to go for or stay clear of...

 

never sprayed celulose before. so should be fun..

Brands much a much, get a good gloss thinners, mix 50/50 get some t cut cut the area back before spraying then t cut the edge out. If you have never sprayed before, in the ebay paint section there are how to spray DVD, this will give you the general idea, like most things it practice,
