bez 0 Posted July 10, 2008 How did the bushes go in? any problems ;) Subframe bushes had to be modified slightly, top & bottom arm bushes were tight but fit nicely , Im gearing myself up for the back ones that will be a pain in the A**e . Autobox in this weekend along with suspension build to get it back on its feet, maybe finish inner wing and fit battery tray.
74cortina 0 Posted July 10, 2008 amazing progress there john ;) i reckon this could be a contender with martins' estate for resurrection, wasn't his about the same condition when he started it? when do you think you'll have it back on the road? looks quite a rare beast too being scottish-registered,not too many of them left.must be why they keep buying all our English cortinas up there :(
bez 0 Posted July 10, 2008 amazing progress there john ;) i reckon this could be a contender with martins' estate for resurrection, wasn't his about the same condition when he started it?when do you think you'll have it back on the road? looks quite a rare beast too being scottish-registered,not too many of them left.must be why they keep buying all our English cortinas up there :( My main aim is to get the mechanical done and running then get back to the bodywork , quick coat of primer everywhere then tackle the interior. Mot it and enjoy driving it then get down to making the outside look a bit nicer a lot later on . Hoping weather permitting to get mechanical and welding done by the end of the year, so things should be taking a better shape early next year. I think my cortina is the worst example anyone could ever tackle to bring back from the grasp of the rust reaper.
