FUZZY 0 Posted June 4, 2008 Other tie rod bushes and rear exhaust mount done. Wife has made comment she hasn't seen me for 2 weeks, strange I distinctly remember taking her to Classic Ford on Sunday. However saga is coming to an end now. MOT retest tomorrow. Then just speedo, and temp. gauge to do. As well as hoover 10 years of dust, leafs cobwbs etc. out of interior and fit some kind of CD player. And tax it. And maybe change alternator which still isn't charging properly. Good on yer bloke  I actually built my hopes up when I saw you were a Fiesta fan - I had designs on swapping you a Mk1 Fezzy for the Mk5, doubt that would happen now though  Will look out for that car at the Yat - well done :tears:

sheffieldcortinacentre 610 Posted June 5, 2008 check conections in alt also check dash earth , had one some years ago that after standing couple of years ind warning light on dash flashed opposite side to outside one???????????
DUFFY3074 1 Posted June 6, 2008 Congrats on the MOT, pull the alternator and clean all the connectors (Multi plug and alternator) the alternator needs an earth through the dash to charge, so as suggested check the multi plugs on the back of the dash as they can corrode. Good luck!
mk2 addict 7 Posted June 6, 2008 Good luck. Where's the Fiesta pictures. The white one i picked up for £100 about 18 months ago with paintwork as is... I added the supersports and MK1 XR2 interior from my spare room stock... The underbneath needed a fair bit of welding. But for that price what do you expect ... just needed brake hose for this years MOT though. Do you need any mk1 fiesta spares as i have a few. I have a very good tail gate, a dash, rear seat part, steering wheels plus more. If you are intersted i can dig it all out and make up a list? i also have a rotten mk2 fiesta 2 door for spares that i wish to sell. Interior is mint. Engine was running, some new parts fitted? Cheers. Hi am looking for good high spec Ghia or xr2 interior for convertible. the one i have is good condition but low spec. In grey or black ideally. Are you going to Clas. Ford or the Yat. may be interested in spares what you got? any details /pics. would be apprecited. THANKS FUZZY Hello, i will find the parts out for you and photograph them for you. Would you be interested in a whole mk2 fiesta? It has a new water pump fitted to it. Will take some pictures of the car too. The interior is a grey on but bog standard. FUZZY 0 Posted June 22, 2008 HI ALL .... nice to meet some of you at the Yat , sadly only had the Fiesta due tothe DVLA. After all the agro I had with DVLA not wanting to tax the car without log book ... so not getting to Yat after all. DVLA have now sent me a new log book so in next few days I will tax it. A few questions .... I'm not very au fait with this injection lark. Got in in and it runs fine. However if i changed the air filter for a K & N and the exhaust with a 4 branch and free flow system ..... on a carb model I'd enrich the mixture, because it would be flowing more air. On an injection I'm guessing the ECU should do this. BUT is the standard ECU on a sierra good enough to cope with this relatively minor increase in airflow. The rubber convoluted pipe between my inlet and airflow meter is perished ... if i replace it with a bit of Samco hosing, i have no where for the rocker filler cap vent pipe to go ( as standard there is a vent pipe leading from the rocker cover cap to this convoluted pipe venting the engine into the inlet). Can i vent the rocker straight to the air or can i replce the cap with the non-vented type from my old cortina engine. Lastly, i want to update the suspension as it wallows about like a drunken duck, I have little money and I want to do this peice meal month by month. What can you recommend to do to stiffen and improve the ride of my cortina. I want to lower it as well, is 2" OK or is 1" better.. what shocks, springs etc. do you recommend... in what order should the updates be best done ... I can get superflex bushes through the trade ... should i fit the whole car range ... or are some best left standard where other are uprated ... any help or advice would be gladly welcomed .. Thanks FUZZY
sheffieldcortinacentre 610 Posted June 22, 2008 fit the bushes in top of diff & axle end of lower arms leave other rear std. get some good gas or gas adjustable shocks all round . go for 1 inch lower springs. put a T piece in the eng breater pipe & connect oil cap pipe to that or as you say fit earlier cap. Cyrix 0 Posted June 23, 2008 Most K&N's have a fixingthat will enable you to vent the breather back to the filter. I dont think you are allowed to vent directly to the atmostphere, you could use a catch tank or a mini filter.
