Thin Lizzy 0 Posted July 9, 2008 its best to get rid of all jacking points, they are reust traps. i thought my mk3 was solid because the jacking points were solid. when i took the carpet up the floor had rotted through inside the jacking point. i could still ack the car up on it, but i cut them out and plated them over as they just trapped water and were full of flakey rust and crap. Cyrix 0 Posted July 9, 2008 Just make up a plate to cover where its been. You wouldnt actually jack the car up from this point, certainly not with the standard jack?
