Has anybody met anybody famous from the world of Ford?

In 2004, I met Rod Mansfield who set up SVE in the early 1980s as well as Jost Capito (who [in 2004] was involved with the ST/Motorsport dept).

I was there that year-very KOOL.Spoke to Russell Brookes to,with the story of the two welded together company car!

Met Mr Burgess-Wise when he was at Borehamwood.

Meet Mike Smith when used to smash up RS500's in the Touring Car championship for Trakstar.

Andy Rouse when he raced RS500's.

Paul Radisics? when he raced Mondeo's and Supervan 3 around Brandhatch.

That's when i had spare cash to follow Touring Cars and lots of shows.

A friend of mine says Colin Chapmans brother also attended more than once , as he used to own a Mk2 for many a year.

I met Sir John Whitmore this year and also Alan Mann down at Goodwood previously , one person I didn't expect to meet at a Groundcare show this year was Paddy Hopkirk who was still helping to market the famous Jerrycans !

Met Jeff Uren about 2 years after he moved from Hanwell to Devon i had my first 1600E and got a price for uprating to 190 bhp V6 with twin servos.

From what i can remember it was around the £1200 including better brakes.

As i had just got first mortgage i had to decline the conversion which was a shame as i would have looked after the car more and might still have it today.

He was good to talk to and full of information for these conversions i've still got the information pack that he gave me all them years ago and will be using it as part of a show folder for oncoming car events.
