rsvmk1 2 Posted March 3, 2013 Another bit of progress. All the fuel lines are now in, just the connections up to the throttle bodies to do when the engine is in. Pain to do, had to make pattern out of copper brake piping first. Could only have one shot at it because a bend in the wrong place meant the pipe was finished. Aeroquip fittings from the tank to the pump and filters Braided hoses to feed and return pipes Hard lines, feed and return at rear Hard lines feed and return to front Now have to figure out the route for brake pipes

rsvmk1 2 Posted March 21, 2013 Thanks guys. A lot good threads for Mk1s just now. Brake pipes all routed and fixed in place. Bit of head scratching to decide how to route these, but think they turned out ok and should clear everything Ran the rear pipes along the inner sill inside the car. Just enough space between fuel lines to clip them in What's next :headscratch:

rsvmk1 2 Posted March 30, 2013 Thanks guys. Probably a bit sad but I like things to look right even if no one can see them  Everything for the brakes now complete, even the handbrake. Just to be bled. Pipes through inner wing. Made up braided flexi pipes. Refurbished the front callipers Rear callipers refurbished and braided hoses made up and run along rear axle Handbrake cable, mounts and lever all fitted Steering column installed. Stripped and rebuilt the switchgear Ran into a snag with the steering. Had the column modified for the rack conversion and when I went to fit the steering coupling to the rack it is fouling on the crossmember. Bit of a pain  Now having to experiment with different UJs and couplings to get it right
rsvmk1 2 Posted April 9, 2013 Steering all sorted now   On to the good stuff now

rsvmk1 2 Posted April 20, 2013 Spent the last week getting the engine ready to go in. Removed the old sump because I had to change it to a rear bowl sump to clear the steering rack conversion. While the sump was off fitted ARP rod bolts for peace of mind. Fitted Vernier pulley to exhaust cam so I could retard cam timing. Left the VVT on the inlet cam, hopefully I can get it mapped properly. Fitted a concentric clutch release bearing as it's now hydraulic rather than cable. Was extremely heavy before so hopefully this will make a difference. Engine and box fitted together to go in place. Tight fit  Really didn't think it was going to go. Had to cover whole engine bay in blankets. Painted the Cam cover in black wrinkle paint. Think it looks smart and more period. Jenvey Throttle Bodies assembled. Just need to put the injectors on. Very close to the bulkhead
