I HAVE OWNED FOR 2 YEARS AND HAS BEEN RELIABLY BUT RARELY USED. 79000 MILES , ABOUT A DOZEN OLD MOTS AND OTHER RECEIPTS. DRIVE AWAY CLASSIC. PLEASE NOTE: THIS CAR RUNS ON FOUR STAR OR LRP. IT HAS NOT BEEN CONVERTED TO UNLEADED. THE COLOR ON V5 SHOWS BLUE/GREY. A PREVIOUS OWNER RESPRAYED PURPLE. ANY INSPECTION BEFORE AUCTION END IS MORE THAN WELCOME HOWEVER BARE IN MIND YOU BUD TO BUY. AS I SAID THIS IS'NT BRILLIANT THE WORST BIT BEING THE SEAT BIT OF THE DRIVERS SEAT. THE OTHER SEATS REALLY ARE'NT THAT BAD. THE ROOF LINING IS A BIT GROTTY AS IS THE REAR SHELF AND THE VARNISH ON THE WOOD TRIM IS A BIT FLAKY IN PLACES . THE INTERIOR IS ALL THERE HOWEVER AS FAR AS I CAN TELL. I DID FORGET TO MENTION THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVERS WINDOW MECHINISIM. IT DOSNT GO UP AND DOWN WITHOUT A BIT OF HELP. THE REASON I AM SELLING IS BECAUSE I WANT A MINI . I JUST DONT HARDLY USE THE CORTINA ,AS I SAID I'VE DONE 301 MILES SINCE LAST MOT. AS IT STANDS AT THE MOMENT IVE GOT 38 WATCHERS ON THE CAR SO DONT LEAVE IT TILL LAST MINUTE OR YOU MAY BE DISSAPOINTED. AND SO MIGHT I IF IT GOES FOR ONLY £501. OVERALL I THINK ITS A GREAT USEABLE CLASSIC BUT IT IS 36 YEARS OLD SO ITS NOT PERFECT. IF IT WAS THE STARTING BID WOULD BE ABOUT £2500 NOT £50O . LASTLY IF ANYONE USES THE BUY IT NOW OPTION YOU GET MY COLLECTION OF SPARES THROWN IN WHICH INCLUDES ALLOYS, SPARE MANIFOLD, LIGHT LENSES, GT DASH AND DIALS, NOS PLUGS AND POINTS, A K&N BOLT ON FILTER , MOUNTNEY STEERING WHEEL AND BOSS, AND OTHER ODDS AND ENDS . cortina316 0 Posted November 9, 2004 well i think it was on this site that i read about someone wanting to pay a large sum of money with a bank order or something , then collect car and the change or something along those lines, so i thought mmm no. as far as the jump starting is concerned , i think with more regular use than i do this would not be a problem. the red light is not on when im driveing and batterys only about a year old so i assume nothings broken . (assume makes an ass out of you and me lol). seriously im not a mechanic and i dont want to rip anyone off so as thers not a lot of time left for inspection , if your the winning bidder and you think its not as discription then iwont hold you to buy it. I have been looking for a dark coloured series 1 to put my Parchmenat Interior in and yours looks to fit the bill so I'll have to try and get around the missus! I sthe colour a bit like Purple Velvet on an Escort? seems to light for Aubergine... the battery thing doesnt sound to be a prob...i think that the clock wears down the battery when not in use and it hasnt really had much of a chance to recharge itself with the lack of mileage... the beauty of bsc is you get to know people and can have a lot more confidence when buying blind...I have bought 4 or 5 cars off ebay and its a bit nerve wracking to say the least!
