tc1 1 Posted November 28, 2009 Hi I have just received my door seals from East Kent Trimmers. When I placed my order I was told they would have a moulded corner and the rest is glue on. Well all I got was a rubber strip with no shaped corner. Has anyone else brought from them and was theirs moulded or not. G.O 20 Posted November 29, 2009 the door seals that east kent trim supply for MkII Cortinas are far too big and bulky, so have two main problems. The first being that they don't clear the striket plate/lock catch assy (only way around is toi trim a big lump out of the new door seals) the other being that once you do get clear of the striker palte, the door won't shut anyway! G.O 20 Posted November 29, 2009 Re - headlining. the one I had from them, while well made, was made far to long - around 50mm across the whole length. That might not sound much, but its enough to gaurantee it'll be saggy. I found them not so much "unhelpful" when I questioned this, as totally unreasonable! I was told that it had been made from an original Ford pattern and that I must have been fitting it wrong! In the end, the only optional available to me was to get it re-sewn, so removing 20mm out of the front couple of panels, and 10mm out of the others. this pic shows just how bad it was - the front support is leaning forwards, the rear support leaning backwards, yet the material is still loose, and I was doing it wrong :thumbup: and with the seams re-done, and not fully tensioned.... tis highly likely I'll never use EKT again, not because of the mistake, but because of their attitude over this. With the proper material not available, and not really wanting to go for the series II type, I went for the alternative he offered. I seem to remember him refering to it as "putty", but not sure if thats just in relation to the colour of it or an actual name. He told me that i got it wrong he never said they come with moulded corners and you have to make your own up. Well thats crap! He then said if your not happy send them back. i opened the headlining and laid my old one top the new one is a lot bigger but all the seams line up so with a bit of triming it may fit. i remember buying one for my mustang and it fitted like a glove perhaps the americans take more pride in what they sell!
