PROJECT SAXON!

Recommended Posts

Did you notice 27 vur in the background ready 4 primer .

Its like production line at your place. How you've managed to fit in your own project I don't know.

Next you'll be telling the woody is also nearly done !!

not yet after this one at least the woody is still on the road its a bit ruff but i love it .

Nice project, but to save making your own wheels, a set of 15 inch hillman minx, sunbeam rapier, etc, etc wheels should fit straight on a ford, as the stud pattern is the same.

Tommy

your right tommy but the dish in wrong and not wide enough but thats where i got the hub caps etc ,iv made 6 incase they didnt balance up .

Yeh see what you meen, probably there for vision, most crew cab vans have a rear window that side so you can see when turning right out of T junctions, good design really if A symetrical, i spose LHD would have the thinner C pillar on tother side :)

Been doing some more work on the saxon this week. I have been starting the Reinforcement in the sills, which will be strenghtening the shell, 'a' post, and 'b'post. I have also got to change the shape of the sill, due to the lenght of the doors being longer! I have a couple of piccy's of the first part of the strenghtening going in the sill area, and a bit more of the roof frame cut away!.

I have also started on one of the doors. Due to the depth of the door being longer, i have had to add an extension panel to the bottom of the

door to make them taller.

This door had a small amount of corrosion to the bottom!. but was a good time to cut that away first.

Nice work. Coming along nicely. Will you be putting in to cross bracing as per the Crayford to stop the shell twisting? Also are you going to give the car a wrap around window screen and move the door glass runner on the top of the door further back along the door - hence making the door look longer - as per the original pic?

Hi Steve yes 2 both of them dont know how far round the door i can go but i am trying 2 make it as close 2 the picture as i can , cant do the brace until the dash panel is back in .
