everyday use cortinas

I know its been done more times than I can remember, its 28years since the last one came off the production line in the uk exc P100.

but as an update...............

 

how many of you can honestly say that the cortina is your everyday transport, and you rely solely on it for your own transport and its current age please.?????

mine is every day up till end november ,absoloutley love it 31 yrs old mk4 ghia drives terrible you have to actually drive it not like todays cars

My Cortina (1982 Motability) has been my daily driver for the last couple of weeks because my so called reliable modern car (Mondeo) has been suffering from failed clutch hydraulics - I finally got round to fixing it today. Good job I've got a nice reliable car as backup :thumbup:.

i use mine for evrything all have used cortinas for evry day use mines nina a 2.8 ghia 5 speed was 2.3 and shes a 1982 . 28 years young lol

i dont use mine for work ( to loud and leave for work at 5.15am ) but ge used and abused regulary in all weathers

I use a van every day, but i use frank for most other things (unless there are speed humps :thumbup: ) 1982 2.0 GL, well untill i get my sierra sorted that is, but ill still take it for a blast every couple of days

i've only got cortinas so my est 72 & bitsa pickup 72 both 2.0 5 speed.are in constant use & have had one or more in daily use since late 1989

I use my 1982 Crusader (it started life as a Crusader anyway) Estate (now badged up as an 'R.S. Cortina') everyday, in the Sun, Rain, Snow & Ice (and anything else the British weather throws at us) !!!

ROH 54Y is now heavilly 'Tweeked' to make Her easier to use on a daily basis BUT still a Cortina & always will be !!!

I am a firm believer that cars were made to be driven & should be !!! (fair enough if you have another car as well, but don't lock them up in a garage & use them once or twice a year...let them do what they were made for & get behind the wheel, then let 'the horses run') !!!

I have a 1996 V6 Galaxy as well (No M.O.t. or TAX at the moment) which will have to go back on the road soon as my daily, BUT only because I need to get 'Tina's heart (2.0 Pinto) rebuilt & I cant do it in 1 day !!!

I know i'll long for the day 'Tina goes back on the road as soon as I take Her out of Daily use to repair Her !!!

For a fortnight last month I was using the 2.0S for a 200 mile round trip daily commute after I switched jobs but had not moved house. Did it uncomplainingly and without fault. It gets quite a bit of use all year round , moreso in summer and gives little problem. My old yellow mk3 was a nightmare though, there was ALWAYS something wrong with that, so id never have trusted it as a daily.
