monks 0 Posted December 1, 2010 I think I will give the trims from OZ a go, as soon as I get some money back from the tos**rs at EKT. Will let the club know how well they fit, could be a secondry supplier!! where do you think the club buys from? I know the owners club buy them in from Oz but the club has a 2 month wait. obviously the club doesnt by from this supplier.
monks 0 Posted December 1, 2010 On yet another subject gents... I hope you can help me out on this one. Somehow I have lost/mislayed the a pillar trims (the ones inside between the door shut and the front screen) at least I think the car had them.....Do they have them? and are they black, because a little voice in my head is saying they are the same style as the B pillar trims, I may be wrong.... Do they have them & what do they look like? While trying to find them I came across these:- Same material as the roof lining but just cant seem to find a place to put it (I was never any good at jigsaw's)

Have been layed up ill for the past week or so but managed to have a look at another one and they were painted. I have had to mask up the whole front of the car and roof lining to paint the pillars, the only reason for this is that I have painted the dash the same colour as the car. With that done and the roof lining fitted I started on putting in the front screen. I have fitted many screens in my time but I hav'nt had one as dificult as this one, 3 hours last night and 6 attempts and it is still not fitting right. Maybe another duff product from EKT. I am going to give it another go tomorrow with a fresh head. On another note I had a full refund from EKT this week and ordered a set of proper door and boot rubbers from Australia. I will let everyone know how I get on with these as I will the club
phil_hartland 5 Posted December 10, 2010 the aussies seem to have rubber products sorted. i bought a rear screen rubber for a humber super snipe from scotts auto rubbers in brisbane recently and it was a perfect fit. very big compound curves and glass went in first time. savagesam 0 Posted December 11, 2010 Ive got roof lining and carpet from EKT, and i really hope they are ok as the door rubbers are litter. God knows what they fit but it sure as hell aint cortina. To be fair i did send them back and after a long argument with the manager at ekt he did refund me only after telling me it was the car that was wrong not the rubber!!!! Has anyone fitted a headlining from ekt? Ebay aus mazda phil's rotary spares and the e club, the original and still the best. I dont mean to slag off east kent, but why they continue to market this crap for a mk2 cortina is beyond me. (Rant over)hahaha

D-FENS 80 Posted December 12, 2010 Is there any one who belongs to 1600e club or mk2 tina club, that can tell me the actual price of the 4 door rubber trims .Also can the seals be taken off if you need to without breaking the plastic pointy peg things that fit in the holes around the edge of the doors. G.O 19 Posted December 12, 2010 Oh dear thats not lookin good how are EKT still in business My problems were already detailed in this thread: aye, try and take them back, and get told that he's never had anyone else complain about them  Goodness knows why EKT keeps on selling this rubbish when he knows full well none of it is any good. With the door seals, even if you do sucessfully manage to get them glued in place you'll find they are too thick so the door won't close nicely, and they won't clear the door catches either. I've never tried a boot seal from EKT, but I've had some very mixed feedback about his screen rubbers - for many years he point blank refused to believe there are in fact two types, though I understand his series II rubbers and now quite good  As for WKT headlining? Very hit and miss I'm afraid to say - the one I had had the stitching too far apart. In fact, so far apart that it couldn't be tensioned at all. He accused me of fitting it wrongly as they couldn't possibly have made it wrong. After much head stratching, and getting my Mum to restitch it, taking out between 5mm and 10mm out of every section we managed to get it to fit. If I can help it, I'll not get anything from EKT ever again. His products don't fit, and his after sales service is even worse  But here are the pics of the headlining, before and after we restitched it to this Good luck with yours
