I've got a feeling they are not actually road legal either- I think you need to have at least a red reflector part.

I think they would look better with clear top part (indicator and reverse), and red lower part, particularly on a red car. And could avoid unwanted police attention?

 

if you get pulled by a youngster tell them thats how they are standard from Ford* , older more experianced copper probably wont care and be more interested in the car itself as ong as you have red brake / side light and orange indicator bulbs

How about Red Tinting the Bottom Half so they're "M3" Style? Might look better. I'm not a huge fan of completely clear.

Im gonna put them on ebay I think as Id rather not cut them about and potentially end up with a load of aggro sealing them up as Stu said.

 

If I decide to go for the clear or clear/red look, Ill either get some from Ale in Argentina or Oldpartsstore in Norwich who were selling them awhile back.

 

Regarding the legality of them, you would need to stick a red reflector over the clear one as its an offence to show a white light to the rear and these would reflect in that way.

 

You would also need coloured bulbs, which these lamps already have.

i suppose that's the right decision as once they're cut that's it.i like clear lights but then i'm biased as i have some for my mk5. :)

When I spent some days in Europe in 1998, I bought a pair of original Orion MK2 tailights.

At this moment I dreamt with my "future" MK5 with those "special touch".

But I never used them, and maybe I can swap them by Kiwi, South African or OZ stuff in the future, of course if other fans enjoy odd spares like me. You should think, not all European common Fords models were sold or made in our countries!! :closedeyes:
