TinaInTheForest 1 Posted April 3, 2011 That's a Girling Mk 2a, as fitted to later Mk 1 and earlier Mk 2 Lotus Cortinas, early Escort Mexicos and RS 1600s, Lotus Elans, and lots of other cars in the 60s. Used to be able to get them for a fiver up 'till about 3 or 4 years ago. They now seem to attract huge money! Mark

SusanButcher 26 Posted September 9, 2021 (edited) Does anyone know the Ford part number of the Lotus bracket pictured? I'm wondering if it was the same part used on the Corsair 1500GT (120E 2A248). It looks very similar, but the Corsair had the 7" servo instead of the 5.5". Edited September 9, 2021 by SusanButcher

Yes it's the same bracket as the Corsair - the can was larger but the rest was sa me.
SusanButcher 26 Posted September 13, 2021 Thanks for that. It's surprising how much money's being asked for those bits of bent metal now.
Tony Webster 28 Posted September 14, 2021 And not forgetting the Fo Mo Co stamped in lettering
SusanButcher 26 Posted September 16, 2021 I could easily do without the name stamp if the bracket fitted properly! Some of the repro brackets sold as Lotus Cortina parts look like they have the wrong spacing on the bolts that go into the inner wing. Maybe they're for Escort GT's?
