83-GLS 2 Posted May 16, 2011 Today, just after 2.30 this afternoon, I spotted a metallic brown Mk3 Cortina, UMM815M, on the Bowaters roundabout on the A2 at Rainham. It looked like either an XL or GT as it had a silver back panel although to be honest, it could have been anything as it was a work in progress car. Does anybody know of it? btboy 43 Posted May 16, 2011 HI Tony. Is that the brown one with red primer and the big back exhaust? Saw it today in Gillingham if it was and it says GXL on the boot.

83-GLS 2 Posted May 16, 2011 (edited) Thats the one Paul  That must be a late GXL as I thought the 2000E and facelifted Mk3s came out quite late in 1973 with the square headlights and new style dashboard layout. 74cortina 0 Posted May 18, 2011 theres still a few M plate GXL's about,i have even seen '74 registered ones.same as with '83 mk5's i guess, some old stock unsold after the new models came out. the facelifts came out in the autumn of '73 so would have been a little overlap with the registrations anyhow.
