MK5CortinaEstate 54 Posted February 17, 2013 Many thanks, It took Me a long time to build up the courage to make a start on the project. Still not sure what to do with the back end as I cant get a 3.64 diff gear set for an atlas axle(to match the Cossie front diff), and I dont want to use the sierra rear end (too much modifing of the chassis involved). If you can get a ratio that is close, you could make up the different with tyre sizes, running smaller on the front and larger on the rear. Just an idea, but it may work for you. S80RTE 0 Posted February 20, 2013 Did some calculations tonight and have come up with the following numbers. Front 205/50/15 through a 2.8 4x4 3.62 ratio diff. Rear 205/55/15 through a Cortina / Capri 3.75 diff. I reckon the centre diff will take up the difference. Further calculations required to confirm before any purchase. Just less than 0.1% difference front to back. I'd say the centre diff will have no problem with that setup. Couldn't have worked out better.

S80RTE 0 Posted March 2, 2013 Not got much done lately been busy getting the Mondeo ready for MOT. Passed on Tuesday Night thank god. Then spent a couple of nights looking at a couple of little things on mums car. Managed to get the frame out of the sierra today. Managed to get the frame installed into the cortina. Next job will be check the alignment is perfect then remove ARB Mounts from the Sierra Shell and Install them into the Cortina Shell. there will probably be nothing much happening over the next couple of weeks as mums campervan needs a couple of jobs doing on it. I've broken two now :ninja: Their number plates hang in the workshop as a mark of respect for their sacrifice.
