KRT 5 Posted July 7, 2011 At the nationals i see a savage with the sensor(saves typing)fitted inside the top hose (saves having a special T piece type hose)At the rad inlet normal jubilee clip and it looked like some sort of blue sealant had been used. Think it was the loverly 3.4 with triple webbers, sorry drooling over me keyboard at the mo. As i am in the middle of replacing rad/hoses/thermostat hsg/leccy fan (see other post)Does anyone know if chap gets on here or any idea on the sealant type  kev

I have used it before. Paul

Paul I have one of these: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574629005&toolid=10001&campid=5335900709&customid=&mpre=http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574629005&toolid=10001&campid=5335900709&customid=&mpre=http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574629005&toolid=10001&campid=5335900709&customid=&mpre=http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574629005&toolid=10001&campid=5335900709&customid=&mpre=http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pacet-Capillary-Thermostat-Fan-Control-Kit-Race-Rally-/190544596914?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c5d57cfb2 in the top hose (Pinto if that makes a difference) in my car (let me know if a photo would help). The capillary is pushed in from the rad end and just around the corner (careful with bends). These a small foam pad (like a bit of that draft proofer for doors at home) that is supposed to stop the jubilee clip squashing the capillary tube. Had mine more than 10 years and it still works OK. Tends to run on after the car's stopped as the temp sender's at the highest point in the circuit as opposed to the rad based sensors that are part way down but I'd rather that than overheat! Tony Webster 32 Posted July 7, 2011 Dunno if this is any help but the Kenlowe "Sensor" on my Savage was clipped up to and simply fastened to the radiator top hose outlet .... on the outside ? An over-ride switch is useful too
MLI 8 Posted July 8, 2011 These days you can even get external temp sensors, so no need to break into the cooling system, see http://www.burtonpower.com/parts-by-category/cooling-system/electric-fan-controllers/kenklm2455.html

mad mik 0 Posted July 9, 2011 Ta for all replies,I am not being tight(much)but already have kenlow capillary/stat etc even have brand new spare so seems pointless buying new device when I have the gear already. Jim its all in the mind you may need help  kev When i fitted my fan I had a piece of foam come with it and it kept leaking so i emailed kenlowe and they sent me 2 rubbers which are slightly arched with a slot for the capillary. think they charged me 1.20 (arabic keyboard so no pound symbol) and that was posted. And as an added bonus it did not leak again :D
