Yet more vinyl roof issues !

I am hoping to replace my vinyl roof as it is pretty much on it's last legs. I want to replace it with the same colour. However i am not sure what colour it is. I thought it was'Tobacco' I was told by mum of all people (who knows very little about cars !!!) as she remembered them having it as an optional extra on a 1300L in that colour to make it stand out a bit from all the others with black vinyl roofs. I vaguely remember it to.

 

Tho looking on this site, at an earlier post the tobacco colour roof is a different colour, i have been sent samples and pictures of vinyl all stating they are tabacco, they are all different colours, and non of them match the car.

 

I am looking for a vinyl roof of this colour, as i think it goes well with the bronze :-)

I think your mums right it is Tobacco, as far as I know the only colours Ford did for the UK market were (starting with most common) Black, Tobacco, Tan and Parchment. The tobacco roof from new was quite brown but I think they fade/weather to a slighly pinker colour. Your roof could be an aftermarket one though.

 

Funny enough it was my mum that told me when I was about 14 that MKII Escort Ghias came with a vinyl roof.

Not sure what the colour is, but it does suit the Bronze on your mk3 well.

Tobacco.

 

Its darker on the c pillar than the roof which must have faded.
