Ale06 7 Posted September 4, 2011 With a lot of respect mate. Here we love all Cortinas and Taunus. And if we find a rotten unit, we used it for spares. I hope I don´t offend you man. Did you bangered a Crusader and a 2.0S????????? <_< :angry2:
cortina crazy 0 Posted September 4, 2011 With a lot of respect mate. Here we love all Cortinas and Taunus. And if we find a rotten unit, we used it for spares. Your right ale but once there stripped if there hanging beyond saving then why not send them out in a blaze of glory instead of just crushing the shell. Everyone's happy this way. We get the parts to save the good ones and the racers get there fun with the shell. That said, bugger off somewhere else to buy them

Ale06 7 Posted September 4, 2011 Im not sure CortinaCrazy. When a good person die, we dont play with the body. We respect them. Isn't it? When a good and wonderful machine die, we can respect it stripping it for pieces (we give them a second and good life) or we destroy it, but with out funny. Sorry, I dont enjoy seeing old and nice machines in those races. They deserve more respect. I know, maybe I'm an idiot and romantic man. Sorry for that.

eddnew 4 Posted September 4, 2011 at least hes not wanting to banger race PROPA cortinas! ..Coz PROPA people have got hold of all the PROPA ones :showoff: Having said that, As a previous owner of all MK's, NO Cortina should be on the track.
Nashy 4 Posted September 5, 2011 Don't look at me ... I HATE banger raging (I don't even know how they call it a sport). Every little part can be reused on other cars including body panels e.t.c. which get destroyed on the banger track. Sorry if you don't like this but it's my opinion (like yours is, it's ok to race them). I respect that if you get one it's your choice what happens to it but I wont help to put any car (classic or otherwise) on the banger track.

the-ford-cortina.com 226 Posted September 5, 2011 if you were to take all the usefull parts of a mk3 cortina that someone could use one day !. :juggle: This is what you would be left with!! and you ant gone race this :car: If the scuttle ends are good cut them out they will sell too :winner: theres not much chance of him finding a mk3 for £400 so I wouldnt worry about them, but at the moment there isnt much sells well off a mk4 or 5 unless its very good trim which he wouldnt be needing on the bangar track anyway. Danish 294 Posted September 5, 2011 (edited) if you were to take all the usefull parts of a mk3 cortina that someone could use one day !. :juggle: This is what you would be left with!! and you ant gone race this :car: I wouldn't stop there Tibs. I had a bulkhead and skuttle cut out of a scrapper to fix my estate. Sections of roof and the rear quarters could also be used. In fact any bit of the shell that's good can be cut out. There was a guy in MTOC who broke a Mk3 facelift and by the time the club was finished there really wasn't anything left. He was cutting body sections out with an angle grinder. I have the slam panel. That said, if we want to save these cars, we have to be prepared to buy them and pay more than the banger racers.
