the-ford-cortina.com 226 Posted September 9, 2011 WHY ????, it seems to me that the only reason for this thread is to brass people off, it's definately doing a good job of that. It would only do that if you let it. its obvious there are Cortinas getting banger raced , they must be buying them somewhere , why try and hide from the fact? Jupiter Red Mark4 1 Posted October 2, 2011 Shame about the Mark 3, but what about the 2.3S? Was it a wind up, or does it really exist?
footybatmobileman 0 Posted October 3, 2011 Hello, Have tried contacting seller about the Blue 2.3S but no reply?? All very strange considering I own a Blue 2.3S. I suppose good to know 2 of them exist.
Jupiter Red Mark4 1 Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) Hello, Have tried contacting seller about the Blue 2.3S but no reply?? All very strange considering I own a Blue 2.3S. I suppose good to know 2 of them exist. I've send a PM as well weeks ago but sadly - no response either. Although I would have to sort out storage (too many cars and not enough garages) if it meant saving a 2.3S I would be interested. Is your 2.3S in Cosmos, Midnight or Talulah Blue? It was a shame about UJR746T (Strato Silver), but the car was very un-original and didn't have the original VIN etc... When I was a kid, my Mum and Dad bought our Mark 4 1.6GL (still have the car), and a friends Grandad bought a brand new 2.3S in Strato Silver with a BVR (same as the one in the Ford catalogue) - car reg was XAX33T. He he the car a number of years before part exchanged it for an new A Reg 1.6GL Orion... Before the 2.3S he had a M reg Mark 3 2000E (beige with a tobacco roof and tan trim). Like to see some photos of your 2.3S - can you post some? Edited October 4, 2011 by Jupiter Red Mark4
footybatmobileman 0 Posted October 3, 2011 Hi, My 2.3S is in Midnight (Very Dark Blue) and the 2.0S is in Stratos Silver. They have different Seat Upholstery too. The Member who said they had acquired a 2.3S in Blue worried me. I too would have bought it from them to save it, but now wonder if it exists as I am sure we are not the only ones who would have saved it. Thanks for your reply. footybatmobileman 0 Posted October 4, 2011 Hi, Forgot to ask about UJR 746T?? Tell me more? Was it broken for spares? Cheers.
Jupiter Red Mark4 1 Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) Hi, Forgot to ask about UJR 746T?? Tell me more? Was it broken for spares? Cheers. Yep, looks like the owner weighed it in not broken for spares - just scrapped. Probably the only true "S" part on it was the "S" badge! Goggle UJR746T and results will take you to the Cortina 80 site and message from I seem to remember from Chris Bowditch who was contacted by the owner. The vehicle details for UJR 746T are: Date of Liability 01 08 2007 Date of First Registration 01 08 1978 Year of Manufacture 1978 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2293CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour SILVER Here's details for XAX33T another silver 2.3S that I mentioned earlier: The vehicle details for XAX 33T are: Date of Liability 01 09 1987 Date of First Registration 04 08 1978 Year of Manufacture 1978 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2293CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour SILVER That's greedy having two S models  Guess that one has Cadiz and the other has Chevron trim. What are the colour of the "S" stripes on the 2.3S silver or gold? Edited October 4, 2011 by Jupiter Red Mark4
footybatmobileman 0 Posted October 4, 2011 I thought White, but yep Im pretty sure Silver. Seats in 2.0 are Tweed material and in 2.3 are a fairly thin Cloth.
cortinadale 4 Posted October 16, 2011 as some have said, if no one wants to save them, and these guys will pay the cash, theres no argument!! plus getting rid of trim and parts is hassle, i offered 11 years worth of cortina parts, 2 shed fulls. i had everything, no takers so weighed the scrap in and binned the rest. i must have lobbed 15 odd centre consoles in all colours, complete units! people need to put there money where there mouths are.
