dan 67 tin corner 1600e :) 0 Posted September 25, 2011 right iv moved the battery to the boot of my mk2 to give more engine space, iv put a bolt through the boot floor for the earth wire which is on bare metal and good and tight. and joined 2 battery wires together to meet the solenoid, and 2 together to meet the dynamo output. all runs good have ignition lights but is too slow turning over and wont start. ( its a good battery) obviously i need some proper battery wire to do it in one, but where can i get this in longer leingths and is there a heavier core of wire to transmit power more? and are there any other things or tips for improving current. im guesing im just loosing power somewhere? cheers. Steve E 0 Posted September 25, 2011 I wouldn't joint battery cable You need a straight run from the boot to the solenoid and nothing else needs changing? Dynamo? You will be turning slow due to voltage drop eithr through the earth connection or more likely the jointed main positive You can buy the stuff by the meter from an auto electrician or good factors by the roll This is good stuff http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Product.do?method=view&n=1451&g=0&p=14815&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Base&utm_campaign=Motorsport
nmonkey220 23 Posted September 25, 2011 you've defo got high resistance at one of your connections

sheffieldcortinacentre 759 Posted September 25, 2011 route charge wire to batt side of solonoid, get earth cable from a welding suppliers its alot cheaper & just as good.
