STUTTGART MUNICH HEILBRON DUSSELDORF was horrified to see the damage inflicted for all of us in all countries I kept wonderign why the cities were all modern, then i remembered. cortina-city 140 Posted May 24, 2017 Finally got swampys ride height sorted. there were no springs available to get the height I wanted. finally fixed it with a spacer unit I made to sit at bottom of spring.all 4 wheel arches now sit at exact same height front is raised 3/4 inch which is perect. looks very squat but very level and I have enough front clearance now, doesn't ground out on speed bumps anymore. handling still very sure, tried some tight bends and all is good BURTON standard ride height springs, were too high. -1" SPRINGS WERE TOO LOW , MORE LIKE MINUS 2" so I used the -1" springs with a 3/4 spacer. to swap each side takes one hour a side with spring compressor tool. funnilt enough hardest part was getting shockers back in. top bolt was very close to full extent of spax shocker it went together though and looks great, perfectly level car Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Burton -1" springs on the back with a 19mm Superflex 'top hat' spring seat. perfectly level car :winner: I'll not say mine is done until the car's had a week or two sat on the new setup and I see how it settles. I don't think I could have slept if I hadn't got it to that tolerance. its funny that because ive put up with swampy nose down for 3 years!! I don't understand myself sometimes. I think its because I already swapped out twice with 2 sets of burton springs and had enough until I decided to make my own way. must admit I thought It may have failed, like the spring was gonna reject the spacer ring. I welded the spacre ring to the base of front spring then re-powder coated it all. the spacer ring was shaped to fit in the profile of lower arm so that it seated properly.
