I'll have to send ye over a 8 pack of proper Irish Guinness....not the watered down crap ye get over there. We keep the good stuff for ourselves you see. Keep up the good work. PNO (or rather N0) is an essex code (chelmsford) thats where ford regesterd their company cars at that time, ni on all film and company cars are reg'd in chelmford cos that's where the press office was

NO was a sequence ford selected for the (maily) R reg run in 76

PU was the T reg run

VW was the J reg run

VX was the W reg run

There's loads of PNO reg''d on drive archive

http://www.drivearchive.co.uk/searchresults.asp?Reg=PNO&Manuf=&Model=&Catid=0&Country=&Otherwise=No&Where=starts

Might be worth the fiver to DVLA to get the owner history of the car  could be a press car or as said a company car apparently quite a few press cars went on to employees at the press office, is there any sign of a round sticker on the slam pannel or of one having been there ?

I know after this long it's a mad question but the press cars that were sold on had a sticker saying warrente void as they had usually been thrashed to within an inch of thier lives by journos trying to match ford accel times

Rob,

i'll be sending off for cars history next week so will keep you informed. I hope it was a ford press car. I'm also getting in touch with the deceaseds brother for photos. I believe there is a lot of history with the car.only 2 owners. one i'm hoping was FORD.
