I like the mk3 , specially with the slot wheels on .

which engine? easy just put a 2litre pinto in, easy swop and gives that extra bit of grunt.

Cheers Guys

I bought the D1's last year from midland cause i just couldn't afford genuine ones, only fitted them a couple of weeks ago but i do think they look the biz, the wolfie's will get a refurb now and be saved for when i fancy a change.

Sounds like a good offer of help their Captain see you Monday to help with the rebuild on the wagon lol  It's on the list and will be tackled shortly, once we've finished moving in it'll be started and 5 will rise stronger than ever.

The Plate on the wagon has been on a few of the family's car's in it's time RedexR so i wouldn't be surprised if you clocked it at a show before, i'm just looking after it at the mo till the Captain get's bored of OZ and returns to dear old blighty.

No MK2's for me RedexR, they've been done and mastered in my family, plus i prefer a little more room.

Thread resurrection, Plans are afoot for changes and parts being collected for an engine swap, my 1.6 had done me well, especially as it was only intended as a get me home lump but alas after 10,000 miles in 5 years of daily service and show's it' leaking more oil than even a pinto should and i thought if it has to come out for a rebuild why not drop in something else like this......

Ok it looks a bit sorry for itself at the mo but plan is to strip it, get it chemically or the like cleaned build it back up team it with this little beut i got from Frankie

Back from the dead thread, Been ages since i've done any form or update with this, where to start

Right last time i posted about picking up my new motor, well at long last me and my bud Carl started the rebuild on the 2.0 lump i picked up before christmas, we pulled it apart and found that it's been bored out by .3 and not run much since as we can still see the cross hatch marks, great news, bad news is it's has some moister/water ingress and a couple of the bores had a bit of rust on them, we wet & dried them and they seem smooth, how ever i'm getting it honed to be safe, we've gunked it and paint stripped the block, also when we gunked it we found one of the core plugs had popped so we've pulled them all ready for new ones, we've cleaned and lapped the valves as well, it's now at the machine shop waiting it's hone and clean, here are the current pics at the half way mark

Right also, swapped the front bumper for a better straighter on, was going to do the rear as well, however in the past she's had a batery try welded in the boot and this made getting to the second bolt almost impossible so i removed it from it's brakets and was going to do the same with the new one, well that did'nt work so i set to giving it a damn good polish and it came up well so it went back on.

Then i did the light's, swapped from the standard to some halogen's, it's an upgrade from Ring, so far so good, had to repair a bit of wiring but fitted a treat.

Lense's are flatter than the old but at least i can see the road at night now lol.

Also i've sorted the interior and bit better, she had a wooden dash from a mk 4 and i had a set of gxl door cards fitted as they at least matched and were better than what was there before hand, well i picked up a set on standard l cards fro Wolfrace last year, only problem they were blue, not an issue as i have repainted them, i think they look pretty smart now, might need another coat at some point but for now they're wicked :) while i was there i also swapped the dash covering for an l version as she should have had.
