conairmike 7 Posted October 25, 2014 Update time, Since i did the egine swap i had been using a mate's air filter, well my birthday came, some money was given and a k&n purchased and fitted :) After years of service, being bodged and adjusted enough had become enough, it was time to get rid of the old exhaust system and a get a new one but instead of getting another hooky fit ashley i went custom stainless, i went a month or 2 back with my bud carl to get one done on his orion and was really impressed with the work and service i booked myself in, it was'nt cheap but i think the benifits of it make it worth and it looks and sounds awesome, enough waffle here are some pics :) Cheers For Following :)

I don't suppose you want to sell your old air filter box? Sorry dude but it was'nt mine, it belonged to a mate who lent it to me after the engine swap. I really like the slash cut tailpipe. Onslow78 30 Posted April 5, 2015 Hmmm . Interesting
conairmike 7 Posted April 8, 2015 Right then so update, i'll do this in stages as its easier and less time consuming than one whole post, plus i might actually remember what we did lol So i left this just after i had the exhaust made, not much else happened after that except to keep on driving it and finish running in the freshly rebuilt pinto, tax ran out at the end of December and with tax exemption pending in april i wasn't gonna re tax till then so 4 months in hibernation, 1st time in 5/6 years, so finally a chance to do all those little jobs yeah, well in practicality yes but in reality i'm not wired that way. Basicley this is all my buds carls fault, if it wasn't for him and his orion i would still think I4 2.0/2.3 and 8v lumps were poo but no his rs2k orion and now 2.3 hybrid which we built gave a different view on the old lump and so the seed was sawn to build my own, seeing Steve taylors didn't help either lol This conversion was always in the planning and i'd been researching it for ages but it wasn't suppose to happen for at least another year then i guess i got impatient, plus a friend had an 8V dohc lump with some of the main parts i needed and he wanted it gone so things just kind of fell into place and we started the project. So one sunday the wife and the Bubba where dropped off so the wheelie bin engineering wags could gossip and shop lol and we went to my mates unit and collected the 1st puzzle piece Car loaded, Engine cranes and buggeys Wagon prepped for the engine Loaded Obligatory goon pic of Jono AKA Cortinaboy lol And unloaded Then came the strip down of the key bits we needed from this engine, Sump, bottom pully and cover, oil pump chain. And that ends part 1 Next onto the build and modification of the 2.3 Cheers for following Mike
