dad 5 Posted April 1, 2012 decided to paint the boot as the car use to be gold and the previous owner didnt get the boot and engine bay painted. painted it in smooth hamerite to add axtra protection as on cortinas the boot and filler neck area are well known for week points for rust. dad 5 Posted April 1, 2012 (edited) done the ignition and changed it to electric. 1st i replaced the balest wire heres the old one (in grey) and the new one in yellow and the old points unit and now the new unit put an upgraded coil on aswel. The car woudlnt start at 1st at the timing was out with the new unit. so i need to say a big thank you to svrider who came round to our house and turned to distributer is i was turing the key. got it running and timed up (thanks sheffieldcortinacentre for checking it with your timing gun) could tell a difference straight away Edited April 1, 2012 by dad Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
dad 5 Posted April 1, 2012 and today serviced the rear brake shoes today ready for m.o.t one of the cylinders look half and half and then painted the rear inner arches which look tones better before... and after... mainly done it for extra protection but looks tones better to look at as well. dad 5 Posted April 1, 2012 thank you for your kind words. going to put the original seats back in next weekend. when my dad owned it he put some mk5 front seats in for better comfort but i want the originals in it to keep some of its originality. dad 5 Posted April 23, 2012 well the tina passed its test Friday with no adviser.
