My first car was a MK1, then I had lots of Mk2's, a few years with a 2000E, then a fair few years with a MK4 2.0S, but it's the years I had with Mk5s that are the most memorable, I do like your Ghia, great pics as usual.

Thanks, I was back seat passenger for a few years in both a mk3(1.6L 2-door) and a mk5(2.0 Ghia), the Ghia was more memorable as I would look over my Dad's shoulder and marvel at the rev counter.....it was his first car to have one I think!

I had a mk3 about 25 years ago and this is my 2nd mk5.....It gets as well kept as possible without wrapping it in cotton wool and I like to use it. I hope to keep it but it'll need bodywork sooner or later.

This morning I changed the gear-box tail shaft seal, I probably lost more oil checking the level was ok than I did from the dodgy seal itself!  It was reassuring to know that I did manage to overfill it previously.

…...and used the above as an excuse to go for a wee hurl/road test to the shops.

Love your dogs, I had a black Lab when I was a lad. Love the car and lovvvve your house. Jealous a "eff, you, see, kay", of your garage when all I have is a pair of scabby old council lockups, one of which I can't use due to it leaking like a sieve and all the ivy growing up the back walls and onto the roofs/rooves making the back walls hold moisture like a sponge!

Thank you.  I wasn't allowed a dog …...got pawned off with a rabbit instead!    The dogs are our family(no kids), I love them to bits.

I haven't always had a nice house or garage, thankfully for the mk5  I do now.

Out in the sun at the weekend before the rain started.

A certain black dog was more excited than I was to sit inside!

Hi John,

You must have got a fresh Doctors note for the Cortina. I take that she passed OK, no problems.

Is Nickola any closer to letting you all out to play?

We have got this close, both working through and Wham. We are both self isolating after been contacted by Track and Trace. We had been with some one who tested positive the day after.

Aye Steve, it's far from over.  Regardless to what Nicola says, I'm lying low for a bit!

MOT due on the old thing, just giving it a last breath of air
