It was spotted in storage not far from here many years ago with lots of new panels but they have not come with it :headscratch: Will be selling it as a rolling shell complete with original engine. My mate has a 1200 2 door reg number 812 AUF registered on 05 10 1962 so that would have been built in sep 62 too i would have thought.. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

MLI 8 Posted July 29, 2012 (edited) Yes, Bertil Hedlund from Sweden (mr Costin on here) has a mk1 2 door which was built in June 1962. I think he took it along to a mk1OC National once, but for some reason the club seemed to ignore/"turn a blind eye" to the whole thing (because it was a "foreign" overseas car?), and the club has since maintained the view that the oldest mk1 is the one in UK from september 1962... I believe Bertil is working on his early mk1 as we speak, intending on bringing it along to the mk1OC National at Stratford in August. Bertil being Bertil (always on the lookout for a Cortina) has since found yet another mk1 2 door built in June 1962, chassis number 512. COLIN RNK 2 Posted July 30, 2012 (edited) Iv got a sep 62 car here i think its the oldest 4 door car on record unless you know better, reg n 3624 DP its blue it has a few anglia parts on it ,one big diff iv noticed is the the hole in the floor where the gear stick come in is round not square ant the back panel filler neck is just flat il post some pictures later .
