Mk2 rear foglight.

Did the Mk2 have rear Foglights?

If not, are there any that are considered by general consensus to be period fit items?

best looking thing to use is a wipac reversing light with red lense , but really fog lights are crap on all cars all they do is dazzle the following driver IMO .

But no, MkIIs didn't have rear fogs from the factory. Not sure I remember seeing any as options (where as fronts were available as a dealer fit option) but I have seen a few over the years that have exactly as Dave described there, Wipacs with red lenses.

apart from the already mentioned "Wipacs" also the (heavy chrome) Lucas L494 was often seen, though it looks a bit too oldfashioned for the MK2 to my opinion. :headscratch:

 

i remember red Wipacs to be very common in late 70ies as additional brakelights as well. it always impressed me very much seeing them illuminated back in those days. :cheers:

Use the transparent Wipac lens but fit a red diode "bulb" inside it, then it will shine red when you turn it on. Or take it to one higher level, fit 2 diode bulbs, one red and one white, then you can use the same Wipac for both foglight and reverselight.:magic:

RED LED bulbs aren't usually bright enough for standard red lensed fog lights.
