Wiring connections mk1

Recommended Posts

Where can I find a good wiring diagram for a mk1 GT? My loom has been disconnected when removed from the car and need to make sure that the right connections are made at the joins (presume its done continuation of colour so green/white goes to green/white for example.

Also I need to know how the wires goin to the front connection box under the slam panel too.

Thanks

I couldn't find a decent wiring diagram only

the workshop manual.

Wires at front should have bullet connectors

and push in,clean them up first.

What have you done about your headlining, need to

get mine sorted soon.

I used these connectors from halfords for the grey front connector block at the slam panel, take the new metal sleeves out of these new connectors & push them into the original grey connector block, saves trying to clean up the old connectors.

Thanks, the connectors I have are in decent shape though really - I was more worried about the colours and what goes where but like the tips on the connectors though :)

I haven't had to redo the headlining in mine as its in good shape but am looking for ideas on how to clean it up - cif is supposed to be decent?

Tony - simples - just get a couple of wires (1 black earth & 1 red live)& a bulb holder - the earths are black & the colours are the live.

Earth out all the blacks.

Then just go through the output wires from the block to the lights one at a time with the red live and you'll see what comes on.

Then do the same with the loom ends coming in to the block using an earthed bulb holder - as you switch the switches, the bulb will light up.

Then match them up in the block. Mains Dips Sides Flashers

Just for info,

- If you need parts & accessories for loom repairs etc..

I have used the following stores, and can recommend them..

I have had no problems with them, - they always have what I need, and will use again..

I need to place an order soon actually.. lol..

The slam panel connector block is at the top centre of the wiring diagram, five black blocks, one above the other.
