dan 67 tin corner 1600e :) 0 Posted September 27, 2012 just bolted the (v6 dgas) carb on the 1660 xflow. started straight up revs and runs lovely above 1700 rpm, try and drop the idle, lumpy and cuts out, no aparent air leeks. the mixture screw doesnt seem to make (much) diference right in or right out. notice theres no breather from the dizzy to carb, but there wasnt one on the old (32 36)carb. crank breather is conected. non servo. and the carbs been cleaned through. any ideas?? cheers Dan. sheffieldcortinacentre 759 Posted September 27, 2012 would think jets to big as its for an eng twice the capacity.

bortaf 96 Posted September 28, 2012 The jetting will still be out as it's not jetted for you cam and head flow, on the DGAS there are 2 "IDLE" only mixture screws not one are you adjusting both ?

bortaf 96 Posted September 29, 2012 Not really (well you can but it still wont be correct) the DGAS flow differantly so the jets still wont be spot on as both chokes are opeen all the time TBH i dont rate the DGAS after the DGAV i'd personly jump to 40's straight way, the gain from the DGAS are very VERY small (one choke is 1 mm bigger and you have 2 idle jets) THE only time a DGAS is worth swapping to is if you have a lumpy cam that idles badly on a DGAV cos then the DGAS will throw more fuel in at idle (2 idle jets). The standard 3.0 jets will actually be too small and you'll need larger ones, less air being drawn through the car (1600 cc instead of 3000cc) will meen less fuel is added to the inlet charge hense you need larger jets.
