Messer 2 Posted February 8, 2013 Everything is in that link that steelrax provided so you can't go wrong there. The easiest ones to see are rear radius arms from the back axle to the body, behind the 4 guage pod on the dash will be a steel structure of a similar shape to house 4 gauges - none GTs don't have this. Also BA77 if its a 2 door will start the chassis number.. Post some pics up on here I'm sure people will quickly be able to tell you.

THE ONLY way to know 100% is to have full provenance , the reciept from new and a continuace history up to date but if it ticks all the boxes for you buy it . charlesg 0 Posted February 9, 2013 The link posted here states that the GT body shell was heavy duty on the floor pan, this is rubbish and was comfirmed by Dennis Roberts who gave a talk at the mk1 owners club last year he was asked this question about HD shells and totally dismissed this, and he should know he designed the thing!! Messer 2 Posted February 10, 2013 There was something said about the exports having hd shells as well for some regions where the roads were bumpy..
MLI 8 Posted February 11, 2013 All mk1s sold new in Norway and Finland had the HD shell (except Lotus), whereas Sweden got the standard (non HD) shells.
