superspeed rocker cover

the mk1 cortina superspeed precrossflow had an alloy rocker cover with superspeed logo cast onto

the mk2 cortina 1600 crossflow had a chrome rocker cover.

There's an item in Classic Ford (out today) featuring a 1600 GT MK2 Cortina in Aquatic jade - one of only two ever made . Is it that one? :thumbup:

Here is a picture of a precrossflow one I am sure it would fit a crossflow if you could find one.

yes the holes to bolt covers down are in the same place on both

thats mine, I havent seen the mag yet but that bit must have been lost in translation, mine is one of 2 superspeed mk2 1600 gts that I know still survive, how many were made I dont know

maybe the poster above has another one ..

...but wouldn't the tappet adjusters foul the cover as the Xflow one is taller? :headscratch:

robert...i'm from the USA..all we ever got were the GT versions of the MK11.

i put a superspeed decal on the boot badge on my 69GT.always like

the company and what they did with the anglia and cortina's.besides

over here most people have no idea what superspeed was.i like it..

just want a superspeed cover for on ot.

would like to see some photos of yours.do you know if any magazine

ever did a period road test of one?? mike

Well that superspeed cover looks a lot taller than a normal rocker cover to me but you could be right about a standard steel one

I had that problem with my 1600E years ago when trying to use one of those polished ally covers with the chrome cap - it made a terrible din when I started it up - frightened the life out of me. :tears:
