Mk1 LOTUS CORTINA RESTORATION

Recommended Posts

That is looking so straight, Paul. I thought for a moment you were going to leave the polyester finish as the authentic orange peel Ford finish!

I've just received a load of photos of a Californian Mk 1 that's never been re-painted, never been undersealed and with no rust. The paint in the engine bay is full of runs and orange peel, and the underside is a little white overspray but mainly red primer, especially the middle of the car between the chassis rails!

How authentic will you go??!!

When you come to spray the green stripe remember to fit the rear lights and mask them off before painting....Check out Colin's A Frame car(also not been re-painted) in the container if you don't believe!

Keep up the great work.

Mark

Cheers Mark

Blocked down the polyester and started flatting the underside of the car.

Will be primed within the next week or so.Once its primed I wont be posting any more pics of it.

I cant say why but all will be revealed in 2015.

I reckon Sherwood green with a white stripe?!

Colin's Monaco Red car looks so good, that must be a tempting way to go....or the Alan Mann Ferrari Rosso Red with gold bits.

Now I'm all out of ideas!!

Now that would be an interesting twist on an all to familiar colour scheme . Lets see if someone is brave enough to try it
