Is the white weld through primer Dave?.

 

Yep, this is what I use, its called construction primer

A little bit more done this evening, cleaned up the floor and the inside of the back panel.

Also decided to remove the spring bracket for the boot lid as I want to use the Lotus type boot lid stay (MGB type).

What a great thread and the work going on you make it look easy

I'm not sure why your called downstairs dave but you definatly got it upstairs knowledge that is so keep the pictures coming upstairs dave

Good old paint stripper, wire brush and wire brush attachment in a drill.

 

The best way is to do a small bit at a time..as the fumes can get to you.:wacko:

I got the name from when I lived in a flat and the girl above me called me Downstairs Dave and the name stuck, the Hot Rod fraternity found this out and it spread from there.:rolleyes:

The rear panels arrived today, sooner than I thought, Result....

Should be able to put them in tomorrow and finish welding in the N/S rear quarter.:thumbup:

Normally i hate the word but this thread is truly "AWESOME"

This is a great thread.Your work is outstanding.Am i right in thinking the 49? Ford you did came to a sad end? Seem to remember reading about that in Custom Car.If you are using MX5 bits why not go Duratec and six speed its the same animal isnt it?
