jim clarks road car, a lotus cortina 550VAR had independant rear suspension probably what chapman would have put on all lotus cortinas had ford not put finantail/buisness constraints on first. im pretty sure it had the donut type drive shafts that the elan had. im sure keith and steve booker have pics off the suspension set up.

I can imagine Chapman had plenty of arguments with the Ford management stroke accountants, but then again would we have had the famous Clark three legged poise?

Many thanks chaps on all the remarks and pictures, I now know it can be done:thumbup:

Did a bit more this afternoon, managed to finish off the N/S inner arch and removed the spare wheel lower section ready for the new panel.

Have also decided on a few other things, going to go for aluminium door skins and will also be using the Mazda ABS for the brakes, watch this space.

Here are some pictures....

Absolutely amazing work! I love to tinker but wow.

Loving the truck too. Do you still own it? Sorry if its rude to ask but what is something like that worth?

Panels arrived today, so can do some more over the weekend.

Also finished the press die for the triangular shape on the bottom of the A post, really works well. so if anyone needs this part then I can make them for you at a very minimal charge.
