Downstairs Dave 37 Posted January 13, 2014 Nice build Dave. Was talking to you at the Super Nats last year . I was in this . Strange because it shares a garage with a jap powered Cortina I remember you, did you have the little one with you? Hope you are all well. Love the Mk2, I had two of them back in the early eighties. Good fond memories.. What rice burner does yours have?

Downstairs Dave 37 Posted January 16, 2014 (edited) I Have now removed the support bars from inside and started welding up the numerous small holes. top of the sills from the Ziebart process see below. Also I have made a start on the dashboard, managed to get another MX5 dash this time a UK spec one which has a 140mph speedo same as the Lotus..Result.. Installed in the Cortina case... Has anyone got any GT small clocks, doesn't matter what condition as I only need the cases and glass.. Downstairs Dave 37 Posted January 21, 2014 O/S wheel tub now started.... Should have all the welding done by Saturday, except front panel, front wings and doors, these I shall do when the car is back on the dolly. Saturday should be a start of the next milestone... building the rear sub frame for the MX5 rear suspension, after that the engine will be going in for the mock up. I will probably have to do a bit of modification to the gearbox tunnel. After doing a bit of measuring I found that the gear-lever lines up bang in the middle of where the centre cross member is (sods law):angry2: I want to do this in a way that looks like it came out of the factory, if I can.... watch this space. I
