Captain Scarlet 95 Posted July 24, 2013 yea baby she got it. ok its only fresh air but hey its a boost i havent been out on the road with it yet but im gonna go for a quick spin now and check how it performs how about making an air con adaption whilst we are at it. stack a evaporator unit behind the heater matrix and fit a flow valve to heater hoses activated with a switch, fit a compressor pump and condensor in place of PAS setup, rad in front grill area. hit the switch- clutch on compressor goes on, valve shuts off hot water to matrix, signal sent to high setting on fan, what you think captain? Sounds good Pete, not much room behind these dash's though is there, think i will just open a window  Have you noticed that when you have window down in MK3 's (or most old cars) there is none of that horrible buffeting you get with modern cars, must be something to do with poor aerodynamics of older cars, and they deflect the air away from the side windows. Fixed my creaky console too now too :),it was rubbing the dash,so that was 4 jobs done in one ,fan high setting ,fan boost switch,CD player from jumping, and creaky console ,thanks Pete if you hadnt posted this i wouldn't have got around to it
Jason 5 Posted July 24, 2013 There will be loads of little things like this I don't know about the Cortina. I owned a Mk2 Fiesta for YEARS before realising you could take the Factory fit sunroof out! I never got a Ford manual with the car and the Haynes manual conveinently missis this information out. LOL! I take it out every opportunity I get. :) Making up for lost time. So don't worry. I feel your pain. :) Jason.

nogE 91 Posted July 26, 2013 I never knew they had it, but the heater facia from the "GT" I stripped had it right on it? wonna get a gt facia now...... would they clip straight in other models?
wolfrace 116 Posted July 26, 2013 From what I remember you pull the plastic knobs off the end of the levers (bottom one has a small plastic pin that holds it on) and a corresponding hole in the lever then the facia is just stuck to the surround so replacing it with one from a GT is straight forward (control levers in the same place) I used some double sided tape when refitting mine.
