wolfrace 116 Posted July 29, 2013 Are the bracket, levers, cables etc at the back of the dash which control the heater/fan universal between mk3-mk5?
sheffieldcortinacentre 610 Posted July 29, 2013 (edited) pre facelift is a mirror image to later ones & so unique (also no illuminated & slightly smaller).cables are unique to. facelift mk3 & mk4 all bits are same. mk5 & p100 some have a different shape knob for fan (otherwise same as above). cables are slightly shorter than above so wont work on above. wolfrace 116 Posted July 29, 2013 Cheers Craig. I have a facelift one knocking about which I figured might one day be useful as a spare, never mind I'll be careful not to lose any bits when I'm messing with my current one.
sheffieldcortinacentre 610 Posted July 30, 2013 to be honest everything to do with dash/column (except pedals & steering wheel) are unique to the prefacelift mk3.
AFernandes 2 Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) You need also to cool down the air co radiator... I saw some "taunus" airco equiped in spain...may be worth a trip ! :) http://www.ooyyo.net/detail/c=CD5A2F7114D2856A111BE56FBA27355BE4A61D6617F384/1853532805017740273.html/ Also many with power steering Antonio Edited July 31, 2013 by AFernandes

AFernandes 2 Posted August 1, 2013 thanks! anyone got any workshop diagrams or engine bay pics pete Hi Pete I'm working hard at this moment to fit airco to my sierra, it is quite a bolt-on solution. Working with Sierra diagram. It involves HW: Compressor De-humidification tank Cold radiator Hot radiator+fan expand valve electrical: De-icer switch in the freezing radiator compressor clutch Max-Min pressure valve and a connection to ECU for idle speed (might be a problem with idle speed on carb) I have some electrical diag from sierra. I eared also that it exists some universal systems to adapt. regs Antonio

In fact sierra equipped with AC have the evaporator in a specific box place before the fan blower. I can take pics if you want :) I also found this: http://www.nfauto.co.uk/acheat.htm It may help contacting them.. antonio
