honest george 0 Posted November 26, 2013 Hi Every body from a very HOT NZ, I know this has probably been done to death, What I would like is photo to be posted on here showing the bottom profile of a front 1/4 bumper from the MK2, Thanks hello REX you'll have a job getting a pic of a quarter bumper for a mk2 as they were only fitted with a complete bumper in Britain.... I'm sure someone out there will correct me if I'm wrong regards George

Captain Scarlet 96 Posted November 26, 2013 I fitted 1/4 bumpers to my Mk2 way back the 70's,i used Escort Mk1,and manipulated the bumper irons until i get them right,it does leave part of the bumper iron exposed though,i got around this by painting the bracket body colour, mine was a dark colour and looked ok,mat not be as good with a light colour. rex hawes 1 Posted November 27, 2013 Hi, quarter bumpers on a MK 2 Cortina will look like a CHICKENS LIP ON A HIPPOPOTAMUS best of luck. Ron. Chicken lips are a delicacy, think I will go for a pair of MK1 S/S items from Vietnam and fill the holes etc make a new out side mount, I have seen a few MK2s Lotus mainly with front 1/4 bumpers, but I have been looking at Cortinas since the 60s. Captain Scarlet 96 Posted November 27, 2013 What a strange reply from Ron Have I done something wrong. just trying to help Rex out there, anyway here is the photo of my car taken around 1974/75 I think,so people can make their own minds up Rex if you want 1/4 bumpers ,then go for it. TinaInTheForest 1 Posted November 27, 2013 They were standard fit to the S2 Mk 2 Aussie GTs I think, and maybe the South African ones as well? The bumpers look like the same profile as the single bumpers, and just cut down with the end bit filled in. Not the same as the Anglia Van / Lotus Cortina / Escort ones!! I think that the Superspeed Cortinas over here also used the Aussie quarter bumpers. They look good to me, especially with the decals!!

cossiemk2 0 Posted November 27, 2013 Superspeed didn't use ausie quarter bumpers, they made their own and fitted only to the V6 cars. I got the idea back in 99 to make my own and put on my YB Mk2 off of our early V6 Superspeed. It seems like everyone is copying it. :headscratch:
