Car paint is a complicated subject, I'll leave it to the experts!! Thanks for taking the time to list the colours.

Useful thread!

Thanks for the work that has gone into it.

My Mk1 GT is grey. Very grey. Paint code CH which I have seen listed as purbeck grey although the list at the top shows that as CU.

Bought some CH paint. It is beige!!

Apparently after looking at other Ford's in CH, it is actually beige but called purbeck grey.

Wonder what happened to mine. Paint plate is original and vehicle looks like Windsor grey.

It was a French export, is that the issue?

Anyone throw any light on this confusion?

Thanks.

Could be as sometimes different colours/codes where used.

My MK3 bakkie is a 75 in saffron yellow which is actually the UK shade only used in 71 Maize yellow.

I have a friend's 78 4 Dr escort popular plus here at the moment it's beige ( can't remember exact details) but colour doesn't match code ( identical on both plates) might as well be black and white.

Probably this is one that's always a pita the code is Sierra for UK cars but Cordoba for genk built.

On the plate on pass side of slam panel it may say sie or cor as a further clue.

it's  Genk built car, which might mean it should be Cordoba , which I assume is different to Sierra.  Could be anything now I guess as it's been repainted. I'll have to ask my bodyshop if they can match it, they're supposed to be doing my mk5 shortly, so I'm sure they'll help. (i only want a scratch repair
