You guys are right. Mine looks like a non Ford add on on my mk5. But it's great practically.

the mk3 (prefacelift one) is only about 3 inch long with a ball type joint, I think its supposed to go next to dash vent in a similar position to the warning light on drivers side.

 

if you open glove box & feel behind hockey stick trim theres prob a hole.

 

that´s what i have in memory as well, though i couldn t find a pic of proof! :cheers:

thats same as mine pete.... more period i think..... bolts to dash so earthed the first L bow it has is the switch as well as position ....there were longer units to...think this one your showing is the shorter of the two......i have a separate switch as well to isolate as they tend to come a bit loose and fall forward,,,so switching itself on.... and not being wired to ignition had a permanent live...battery????? :thumbup:

poss as the 1600E spots are by wipac as are the rev lights I think.

here we are Pete, not much i could find by now, but i could have some forgotten stuff somewhere in boxes :headscratch: , don t know whenever i will put some order in my little "archive" :headscratch: :sofa:

 

(i hope it works, as i can currently only scan at the office)

hans, thanks so much, this unit looks like the one you can buy new, with the mount plate attached and about a 3 " unit, so ill go for that one, job done, next job is where did they fit it and dare i dril my dash
