....well i think its a ropey fuel pump, if you wiggle the fuel pipe from the pump to the carb it cuts out, ive replaced the filter and new pipe, so i think the pumps not working properly, its only £25 quid delivered for a Q&H pump so ill change that , the old one looks tired anyway, still love it Dave ! and yes Pete i think your on the money 99% sure its a fuel problem, lucky it was down the road from my house and it started when i went back to recover it, love old cars there ace

Never had a problem with that although I think it was the original one. Had a spare ready but never needed it. Mind you, your using it now whereas I drove it once in a while. :-)

Lol... Have you really... I think in the last 2 years I only managed a total of about 50 miles if that. :-)

:rofl: I think it had only cover 64000 miles since new so 500 miles in, what 6 weeks, is a lot for it :-)

Well fitted a new fuel pump the the GXL and it didnt cure the problem, though the old pump was worn (easy to push in and out), so on further poking around i noticed the negative wire to the coil wasnt gripping the connection pole , just resting on it, hasnt give me an issue since, easy n simple fix.

...So i seen the snow today and thought i own a rear wheel drive Cortina!, ill take it out and do some doughnuts, sadly it was to slippy to make the old gal spin, heres the poor laughable effort , not very Sweeney :thumbup:
