phil_hartland 5 Posted August 2, 2014 had a bit of a pleasant surprise today....opened up all the paperwork that came with the car....a hard back book that logs everything from the day the car was ordered from WEILLERS in Germany on 16.4.77 and delivery on 26.10.77.... right up to date....pages and pages of it. also have every mot certificate from 1983 to a new one last week. I have the ZEIBART certificate from when it was done 14.11.77. which explains why the bodywork is in such good condition....all the arches are crisp and clean, the boot is absolutely rock solid. there is tons of the stuff under the bonnet which makes it look untidy but has kept the metal absolutely solid. tons of invoices, etc. to say i'm "over the moon" is an understatement. retired from work yesterday so will start undoing the modifications next week....can't wait. Shame about those rear lights and bumpers, but great looking car nonetheless. Here are a couple of pics I found a while ago of the car online somewhere in (I assume) its original spec. Those original pics are exactly how a Mk4 Cortina should look, just how it was when it came out of the factory! Nothing more, nothing less :thumbup: It's a nice car now but it's going to look even better once you get it back to standard, good luck with the project and your retirement. It looks like it has green tinted glass all round. If so that is rare as I thought all 2 doors had clear glass and later MK4's Ghia spec had bronze glass.
