RT 1006 137 Posted September 12, 2014 This is a great car in the best colour, Champagne Gold really suits the '82 models. Yes champagne gold ones are definitely the best :D
trusty 1 Posted September 15, 2014 I nearly bought this car from a fella in Croydon the first time round about 8 years ago it was on disabled tax at the time as the fella had a bad or injured leg so being auto was ideal. It did have the ghia wheels as well but I decided against buying that for another cortina. It then went up and A member From here bought it
Steve Walton 130 Posted September 17, 2014 Hi Trusty, I have some old Tax Discs with the car, some of them are "Disabled" Class Tax Discs. I might get a list of old owners from the DVLA, only costs a fiver. It looks as if the car has not done a lot of miles in the last few years. It would be interesting to learn a bit about its past. Cheers Steve
Steve Walton 130 Posted September 27, 2014 Quick update on a little progress. The NOS Front panel arrived last week. Very pleased with it, just had a little surface rust that needed taking care of. I had forgotten how thick the steel was on older cars when compared to the tissue paper they use today. It is a great help having a Nephew with a fully equipped workshop with a Spray Paint shop next door. I was going to de rust it with a small air sander but a mate offered to put it through his cabinet shot blast. Saved me a lot of time and mess. A quick coat of Primer and it is as good as new.
Cortinamark5 4 Posted February 25, 2015 Hi, This is Mark who you bought the car from, nice to see its getting some TLC and your enjoying the car. I miss the Cortina I must say, got a 2005 Saleen Mustang now but I have the bug to add a Cortina back into my life, so on the look out for one again lol....If you have any up to date pics I'd love to see them. Heres a pic of the car when me and my kids took it on holiday to the Isle of White :) Mark.
CorNada 2 Posted February 25, 2015 If you have a Mustang you must have a Cortina to and if you have a Cortina you must have Mustang to, that's my theory anyway.

Heres a pic of the car when me and my kids took it on holiday to the Isle of White :) Mark. Hi Mark, I didn't buy the car from you but from a guy called Ken Lawrence from Brentwood. I bought the car in August 2014. Ken had owned the car from December 2013. The car looked the same as in your photo when I bought it and it still had the Ghia Alloys with it. I am in the midst of Restoring / repairing some very bad repairs on the car at the moment.
the-ford-cortina.com 226 Posted February 28, 2015 Looks nice, will look even better once you get the original wheels on  I was just about to say I like the Rostyles on it , didnt think I would either.
Steve Walton 130 Posted February 28, 2015 Thought it was about time for a progress update. Took the car of the road in October 2014. Fitted a NOS Front Panel and repaired some corrosion around the Front Nearside Subframe mounting. Then the Front Wings were removed just so that I could check the condition of the wing rails!! Look Away now if you are of a nervous disposition.  I didn't take photos but there were plates covering the corrosion that were held on with Mastic and pop rivets. This was the start of a lot of repair work that I did not expect. But it makes me wonder what makes some people think that they are doing quality work. More to follow. Steve Walton 130 Posted March 4, 2015 A progress report on repairs to the front wing rails, "A" panels, Slam panels ends and around the front indicators. The repair / restoration work continues, but as we all know it is not light at the end of the tunnel that we can see it is our old friend Mr Rust bringing more work!! :juggle:
