...I'm using this 1976 Honda Civic 1200 instead.

Didn't the article say it was a couple of years older than the plate suggested?

Yep, it's a 1974 built car but sold in 1976, it has a few bits that only 1974 cars had like a single column stalk, vent in the B post and smaller strut tops. It's thought that the car sat in the dealers showroom for the 2 years as a display model before being registered and sold off.

you know me I like to keep my cars shiny :) plus that was the day I picked it up only had about 15 miles on the clock so hadn't had a chance to get any scratches or swirls on it

Spritely? My Clio has 200 horses and it's verging on insane, so 300...

well its a 4wd so traction is pretty good. Think the official figures say 0-60 in 4.9s. Pretty good on fuel too I'm averaging 28 mpg round town with some spirited driving and late 30s on the motorway.

I'm a fan of the clio sport though had a few of the phase 2 172s and 172 cup which was brilliant fun

I wouldn't call that " good " on fuel - my Cortina does nearly that :headscratch:

for a 300 Hp 4wd? I'll take that definitely. My 105bhp cortina does about 25 mpg. My delta integrale running 260hp used to struggle to break 20 mpg on a run!

Suppose I'm used to pretty thirsty cars, my bmw 330i m sport I just sold used to do 26 mpg and the golf would leave it for dead

28mpg is about what my Clio gets. Strangely it gets within 1 or 2 mpg whether I'm driving sensibly or caning it. :headscratch:

Bumping the thread with my daily hack, 2008 Suzuki Swift 1.5...had it since new. Great car and never had any problems with it. In hindsight I should have got a manual but the auto goes alright.
