LagoonBlue 145 Posted January 23, 2015 Could not resist snapping a photo of this MK2 i saw today, looks to be a GT? Had the GT dash in it and that red shield thing in the rear quarter. (sorry for the poor pic, had only my phone with me) I saw this car earlier in the oncoming lane when i was leaving from work and later at local car dealership. Maybe he is looking to sell :headscratch: .. Better not get any ideas on my head, got to sort the one i have first :rolleyes: Oh, and it was nice balmy -17°C today, improvement on yesterdays -21°C here (Northern Finland) Nice (if not exceedingly rare) to see these cars driven as they should be :thumbup: Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

At 17 below, I hope he's not on 20W50 oil, and modern synthetic 75W/90 GL4 in the box would help, too :) I once tried to start my 67 mk2 after a night with 25 below, brought with me 2 batteries, and coupled them together for more volts at the starter, got it started, then had 2 use both hands to select reverse :) (thick gear oil due to the cold) My father's new BMW at the time refused to start, was cranking over, but nothing much happened, Cortina 1, BMW 0 Amazing how much difference a few cold degrees can make, I remember from my time in military service up in northern Norway that 15 below was OK(ish), but 20-22 was something else (much harder to breathe, it seemed).
