Carbodies update

Recommended Posts

Got the car mot'd at the local Ford main dealer today, I think the last time it was mot'd was 1996.

No advisories and the car drove really well until about 10 miles from home when the brake pedal starting to go down a lot further than normal and not coming back to normal height.  Braking was really reduced until I lifted the pedal back up with my foot and then it was all back to normal, I think the new master cylinder might be sticking so I'll stick to local trips for a little while longer.

Thanks Steve, I'm really pleased with how it came out it's been a struggle at times but all the attention and comments it received today made it all worth while.

One other thing, no one ever lets me out in traffic in my other car but today in the Cortina everyone was waving me out.

The way the weather is going I don't think mine's going to get a lot of use this year, it slashed down all day yesterday and today is gale force winds.

I'm hoping to be able to get a few of the mk5's together some time so maybe you can give your car a run.

Thank you both, the screen went really well eventually.

I found the correct screen rubber and did a search on line and Auto windscreens specialise in classic cars but Fords from the 70's and 80's are not classics so they don't fit them, in desperation I phoned a local fitter and he did it in about 20 minutes for £40.

Your car is a credit to you Greg, it’s absolutely superb. Looking at what you have achieved makes me want to get on to mine as soon as as I can. Well done bud, a winner.

Poor old JOG, managed to get a few pictures today and it looks in a bad way, it's sitting in the open with a cut hood and the back light missing so getting a lot of water in it when it rains.  Hopefully the owner will save it.
